SlowWine 2021 rewards Spinello dei Falconi and all Cupertinum wines

SlowWine 2021 rewards Spinello dei Falconi and all Cupertinum wines for the value for money!
The SlowWine 2021 Guide awarded the “TopWine / Vino Quotidiano” award to the Spinello dei Falconi Rosato Igt Salento from Cupertinum, a historic winery in Copertino. The wines awarded with the qualification “TopWine / Daily Wines” are the “Excellent wines under the organoleptic profile with an advantageous quality-price ratio”. In addition, the SlowFood guide assigns the “Coin” to all the wines of the winery again for the quality-price ratio. Francesco Trono, president of the winery: “SlowFood supports the criteria of ‘good, fair and clean’ and our winery also pays attention to the social and environmental dimension. We are happy with this recognition – which is assigned to us for the second consecutive year – also for our many contributing members, our strength, who in these days are facing the fatigue and joy of the harvest”. Happy with the news, the oenologist Giuseppe Pizzolante Leuzzi also declares: “The awards are always a pleasure, they confirm that the work of revaluing the wines of the winery, begun ten years ago, is bearing fruit for the whole territory and for the Copertino Doc. We are sure of the overall quality project of the winery and we believe that the members of the cooperative will always have greater satisfaction”.

For several decades, international magazines such as Decanter and WineSpectator and all the Italian guides have recognized Cupertinum as a qualitative project of great commitment.

“I see confirmation and surprises in the new 2026 wine guides for our wines. With these awards, Cupertinum confirms its status as a company of excellence, reliable over time, dynamic in identifying new goals and achieving them,” says Francesco Trono, president of Cupertinum. Winemaker Giuseppe Pizzolante Leuzzi, now accustomed to the awards that come flooding in year after year, is also satisfied: “The focus on quality and modern winemaking that respects tradition is understood and rewarded. These awards reward the members, the winery’s workers, and the territory.”
